What does this mouse tester check?
It checks left, right, middle, back and forward buttons, scroll-wheel direction, pointer movement, dragging and double-click behavior. Touch alternatives are included for iPhone and iPad users.
How to perform a complete mouse test
A full mouse check should cover more than the left button. This tester records pointer movement, left/right/middle clicks, wheel activity, double-click behavior, dragging and additional buttons where the browser exposes them.
For a more reliable result
- Click each physical button several times and confirm the corresponding visual state changes once per press.
- Scroll both directions slowly and quickly to look for missed or reversed wheel events.
- Drag across the test area while holding the primary button to check for accidental releases.
- Test double-clicks at your normal speed; unusually frequent double activations from a single press can indicate a worn switch.
What this test cannot confirm
Trackpads and iPhone/iPad touchscreens do not expose all traditional mouse controls in the same way. The page provides touch alternatives, but a touchscreen gesture cannot prove that a physical mouse wheel or right switch is working.
