Using the stuck-pixel exerciser safely
A stuck pixel can sometimes behave differently from a permanently dead pixel. This exerciser rapidly cycles the entire display through contrasting colors so every screen area receives the same full-screen color changes.
For a more reliable result
- First confirm the point on several solid-color backgrounds so dust or a surface mark is not mistaken for a pixel problem.
- Use a short full-screen session first so every part of the display cycles through the same contrasting colors.
- Stop immediately if flashing colors cause discomfort, eye strain, dizziness or other symptoms.
- Retest the pixel on white, black, red, green and blue after the session rather than assuming the exerciser changed the hardware.
What this test cannot confirm
There is no guarantee that color cycling will repair a stuck pixel, and it cannot revive a physically dead pixel. Do not press, rub or massage the panel; physical pressure can damage modern displays.
