How to test touchscreen coverage
Drag one or more fingers across every edge and corner. Missing lines or repeated interruptions may indicate a touch issue, but first remove a thick screen protector, clean the screen and restart the device.
How to find touchscreen dead zones
The most reliable touch check is continuous coverage rather than a few taps. Enter full-screen mode and drag a finger slowly across rows, columns, edges and corners so interruptions become easy to spot.
For a more reliable result
- Cover the entire panel with slow continuous strokes instead of moving too quickly.
- Repeat suspicious areas in a different direction to rule out a missed gesture.
- Clean moisture or grease from the screen because contamination can interfere with capacitive touch.
- If you use a screen protector, compare behavior carefully; damaged, thick or poorly fitted protectors can affect edge response on some devices.
What this test cannot confirm
The page can show where browser touch events are received. It cannot determine whether a failure comes from the digitizer, display cable, operating system, protective glass or another hardware layer.
