How to check multi-touch, gestures and screen edges
Multi-touch testing is useful for phones, tablets and touch-enabled laptops because a screen can respond to one finger while failing with additional contacts or near the edges. The test displays each active touch point so you can see whether contacts appear and move continuously.
For a more reliable result
- Place two or more fingers on the screen and confirm that separate markers appear for each contact.
- Move fingers toward corners and edges to check areas that are often missed in normal tapping.
- Pinch and spread slowly to verify that the distance between touch points changes smoothly.
- If a marker disappears repeatedly in the same physical area, repeat the test after cleaning the screen and removing a problematic screen protector if appropriate.
What this test cannot confirm
Browser touch events indicate what the webpage receives. Palm rejection, stylus-specific behavior and operating-system gestures may intercept some contacts before they reach the test.
