How to test a camera or webcam

  3. Choose a detected camera or use the switch button on phones and tablets.
  4. Check focus, exposure, color, motion smoothness, lens cleanliness and framing.
  5. Capture a local still to inspect detail. The image stays on your device.

Compatible devices

This tester can work with laptop webcams, MacBook and Chromebook cameras, desktop USB webcams, all-in-one PCs, phone and tablet cameras, smart TVs with a browser-accessible camera, and monitors that include a built-in webcam. A standard LCD, LED or OLED display without a camera cannot be camera-tested.

Privacy: Video and captured images are processed locally. Nothing is uploaded by this tool. Browser permissions and hardware exposure vary by operating system and browser.
Can I test an external USB webcam?

Yes. Connect it first, start the tester, and choose it from the available-camera list when the browser exposes multiple cameras.

Why is only one camera listed?
