Camera & Webcam Tester
Test built-in and external cameras on laptops, desktops, phones, tablets, all-in-one computers, smart TVs and compatible monitors—directly in your browser.
Can this page test laptop, phone and external cameras?
Yes. It can test built-in laptop webcams, phone and tablet cameras, external USB webcams and compatible TV or monitor cameras when the browser exposes them and permission is granted.
How to test a camera or webcam
- Connect an external webcam before opening the test, if applicable.
- Select Start camera and allow permission when prompted.
- Choose a detected camera or use the switch button on phones and tablets.
- Check focus, exposure, color, motion smoothness, lens cleanliness and framing.
- Capture a local still to inspect detail. The image stays on your device.
Compatible devices
This tester can work with laptop webcams, MacBook and Chromebook cameras, desktop USB webcams, all-in-one PCs, phone and tablet cameras, smart TVs with a browser-accessible camera, and monitors that include a built-in webcam. A standard LCD, LED or OLED display without a camera cannot be camera-tested.
Can I test an external USB webcam?
Yes. Connect it first, start the tester, and choose it from the available-camera list when the browser exposes multiple cameras.
Can this test a camera built into a monitor or smart TV?
Yes, when the monitor or TV includes a camera and its browser exposes that camera through standard media permissions.
Why is only one camera listed?
The browser may hide device names until permission is granted, or the operating system may expose only the active camera.
