Smart TV Camera Test
Check a built-in or connected smart TV camera where the television browser exposes it.
What is the Smart TV Camera Test – Check Compatible TV Webcam?
Test a camera built into or connected to a smart TV when the TV browser supports camera permissions and standard media APIs.
Smart TVs and TV webcams
Many TV browsers restrict camera access. A television without a built-in or connected camera cannot run a camera test.
How to run this test
- Connect or enable the camera.
- Select Start camera and grant browser permission.
- Choose the correct camera from the list when more than one is available.
- Inspect focus, color, exposure, motion and the reported resolution.
For the broadest camera guidance, see the main camera and webcam tester.
Can a smart TV camera be tested in a browser?
Some smart TVs support built-in or connected cameras for video calls, but browser access varies widely. This page can test a TV camera only when the television browser implements camera APIs and allows permission for the site.
For a more reliable result
- Use the TV’s supported browser and confirm camera permission when prompted.
- If the TV uses an external USB camera, verify that the television itself recognizes the device first.
- A missing camera list may indicate browser limitations even when another TV application can use the camera.
- Use the screen and audio tests separately because camera availability says nothing about display or speaker quality.
What this test cannot confirm
Smart-TV web platforms are less standardized than desktop and mobile browsers. Failure in this tester does not prove the camera hardware is defective.
