Why use a full-screen red background?

A pure red screen is useful for isolating red-subpixel behavior, spotting pixels that fail to reproduce red correctly and checking whether a panel has obvious tint or uniformity differences.

Red screen for pixel testing

Use Pure Red #FF0000 when checking a display. A pixel that remains black, green, blue or unusually dim against the red field deserves confirmation with the other primary-color screens.

Red screen for uniformity

Large flat colors make patches, tint changes and panel nonuniformity easier to notice. Compare the center with the edges at your normal brightness and viewing position.

Red backgrounds and long-duration mode

The same full-screen engine can provide a clean red background for video, photography or signage workflows. Long-duration mode can keep the page active when supported, but it is not a system screensaver.

How to use the full-screen color safely

1. Set your display to a comfortable brightness.
2. Choose the exact color or shade you need.
3. Select a duration only when you need a long session.
4. Keep Screen Awake enabled if you want the browser to request Wake Lock.
5. Press Exit or the browser Escape control when finished.

Long-duration color screens are browser utilities. They do not override every operating-system sleep, battery, thermal or screen-protection rule.
